Blauvelt
Blauvelt is a hamlet and census-designated place, formerly known as Greenbush and then Blauveltville, in the town of Orangetown, Rockland County, New York, United States. It is located north of Tappan, east of Nauraushaun and Pearl River, south of Central Nyack, and west of Orangeburg. As of the 2010 census, the CDP had a population of 5,689.
Hunger’s 5K Heroes will be held on June 5th
Hunger’s 5K Heroes will be held on Saturday, June 5th at 10 am at the Joseph B. Clarke Rail Trail in Sparkill, as well as virtually. Click here to register. All proceeds to benefit food pantries in the Town of Orangetown.
Raymond W. DeMeola VFW Memorial Post 1615 to host Memorial Day observance in Orangetown on May 30th
The Raymond W. DeMeola VFW Memorial Post 1615 will be holding a Memorial Day observance on Sunday, May 30th, at 10 am at the Walkway of American Heroes in Orangeburg.
Orangetown Parks & Rec to host painting parties for children
The Town of Orangetown Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a series of painting parties for children on Tuesdays from May 25th through June 15th. Click here to register.
Orangetown to begin Family Movie Series on May 7th
Orangetown Parks and Recs are just one week from the opening of their Friday Family Movie Series. They are happy to welcome GoGo Squeez as their corporate partner this year. They will be providing some handouts at many of the movie nights! The movies at Veteran’s Memorial Park are shown on a new 16’ X 10’ outdoor movie screen with a surround sound system. The May 7th movie is Dreamwork’s The Croods: A New Age.
Movies will begin at 8:00pm in May and will run approximately 90 minutes. Tickets are $3.00 per person with a max of $15.00 per family. (same household only) Space will be limited and social distancing rules will be in place. In case of rain, the movies will be shown at a later date. Non-residents are invited to attend at a cost of $4.00 per person 2 days prior to each movie if space allows.
