Thiells
Thiells, known as Thiell's Corner in the 1850s, is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Haverstraw, Rockland County, New York, United States. It is located north of Mount Ivy, east of Pomona, south of Tomkins Cove, and west of Garnerville. The population was 5,032 as of the 2010 census.[1]
During the American Revolution, Thiells was known as Haverstraw Forge, where General "Mad" Anthony Wayne, leading 1,350 Continental Army troops, was able to watch the area of Stony Point.
Raja Amar Speaks on Letchworth Village plans at North Rockland Chamber of Commerce September Membership Meeting
The North Rockland Chamber of Commerce held its most recent membership breakfast on September 14th, 2021 at The Pancake Factory in Stony Point, NY.
The guest speaker, Raja Amar from Patriot Hills LLC – discussed at length his plans for development of the Stony Point portion of the Letchworth Village property, notably how the company would manage the operations and finances of the Patriot Hills Golf Course. Those plans are predicated on the results of a referendum on the proposed sale of the property, by the Town of Stony Point to Patriot Hills LLC, scheduled for vote on Nov 2, 2021.

The next North Rockland Chamber membership meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 12 at Sonoma Grille, located on the Phillip J. Rotella Golf Course in Thiells, NY. Sign in for the breakfast begins at 7:45 am, and the meeting commence at 8 am, lasting until 9 am.

Just a reminder that Bowline Registration is beginning next week.
We are thankful many of you have already taken advantage of scheduling your registration time. If you forgot, because of COVID requirements, this year you MUST call Town Hall to make an appointment to register.
Although this Saturday is already booked, you can call for appointments during the week, Mon-Fri in May from 9:30-4:00pm. Saturdays in May, May 8, 15, 22 from 10:00am-12:00pm. There will be no registration on Memorial Day Weekend.

The Town of Haverstraw has advised that paving will commence on Route 202 between 8:00PM-6:00AM about May 2nd between Garnerville Post Office to Rosman Road in Garnerville.
