Nanuet is a hamlet and census-designated place in the town of Clarkstown, Rockland County, New York, United States. The third largest hamlet in Clarkstown, it is located north of Pearl River, south of New City, east of Spring Valley, and west of West Nyack. It is located midway between Manhattan and Bear Mountain, 19 miles (31 km) north and south of each respectively; and 2 miles (3 km) north of the New Jersey border. It has one of three Rockland County stations on New Jersey Transit's Pascack Valley Line. The population of Nanuet was 17,882 at the 2010 census.

| Congratulations to two Clarkstown residents Katy Sanchez and John Gianakouros for receiving silver medals in the National Special Olympics recently held in Orlando Florida. Katy, from Nanuet, received 3 medals in track and field. John, a Clarkstown North alum, received two medals in tennis. Katy and John were 2 of over 200 participants from New York and the only athletes from Rockland County. Clarkstown Supervisor George Hoehmann, Chief Wanamaker, and the Clarkstown PBA presented certificates for their great achievements. |

There is currently a countywide shortage of Volunteer Firefighters. Within Clarkstown, there are 7 Volunteer Fire Departments serving our community that are always in need of volunteers. If you are interested, or know someone who may be, please consider volunteering with one of these great organizations (linked below).
